list of Dungeons & Dragons Video GamesThe Dungeons & Dragons video game franchise is a series of video games based on the Dungeons & Dragons tabletop role-playing game. The first Dungeons & Dragons video game was released in 1988 and since then, there have been numerous titles released across a variety of platforms.

The first Dungeons & Dragons game to gain widespread popularity was the 1991 game “Eye of the Beholder,” developed by Westwood Associates and published by Strategic Simulations. The game was a first-person dungeon crawler that followed a party of adventurers as they explored the underground depths of a castle.

Other notable titles in the franchise include the “Baldur’s Gate” series, developed by BioWare and published by Interplay Entertainment, and the “Neverwinter Nights” series, developed by BioWare and published by Atari. These games introduced new gameplay mechanics and storytelling elements to the franchise, including real-time combat and player choice and consequence.

The franchise has also seen adaptations of its tabletop ruleset, such as the “Gold Box” series of games developed by Strategic Simulations in the late 1980s and early 1990s, and the more recent “Neverwinter” MMORPG developed by Cryptic Studios and published by Perfect World Entertainment. The franchise continues to be popular today, with new titles being released regularly.
