OutRun is a racing video game developed and published by Sega for the arcade in 1986. The game was later ported to various home video game consoles and computer platforms.
In OutRun, the player controls a Ferrari Testarossa convertible as they race against the clock through a variety of locations, including beaches, deserts, and cities. The game features a nonlinear gameplay structure, with the player able to choose which path to take through the game’s branching levels.
The game also features a variety of obstacles and hazards, including other cars on the road, trees, and road signs. The player can use a variety of techniques to avoid these hazards, including drifting, braking, and accelerating.
