Game Description

“Star Wars Battlefront II” is a third-person and first-person shooter game developed by DICE, Motive Studios, and Criterion Games, and published by Electronic Arts (EA). It was released on November 17, 2017, for Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.

As the fourth major entry in the “Star Wars Battlefront” series, “Battlefront II” takes place in the vast and iconic “Star Wars” universe, spanning all three cinematic eras (Original Trilogy, Prequel Trilogy, and Sequel Trilogy). The game features both a single-player campaign and a robust multiplayer mode.

The single-player campaign, set shortly after the events of “Return of the Jedi,” follows the story of Iden Versio, the leader of an elite Imperial special forces unit known as Inferno Squad. The campaign allows players to experience the story from the perspective of the Empire and showcases events that bridge the gap between the Original Trilogy and the Sequel Trilogy.

In addition to the single-player campaign, “Star Wars Battlefront II” offers a multiplayer mode that includes large-scale battles across various iconic locations from the “Star Wars” universe. Players can choose to fight as either the Galactic Empire or the Rebel Alliance in the Original Trilogy era, the Separatists or the Republic in the Prequel Trilogy era, or the First Order or the Resistance in the Sequel Trilogy era.

The multiplayer mode features a variety of game types, such as Galactic Assault, Capital Supremacy, Heroes vs. Villains, and Starfighter Assault. Galactic Assault is a large-scale mode with objectives, while Capital Supremacy involves ground battles with the added element of capturing and defending capital ships. Heroes vs. Villains is a 4v4 mode where players can play as iconic “Star Wars” characters, and Starfighter Assault focuses on intense space dogfights.

Players can choose from a wide array of infantry classes, vehicles, and heroes or villains from the “Star Wars” saga, each with unique abilities and playstyles. The game also introduces a progression system, allowing players to unlock and customize their characters and equipment as they play and earn experience points.

Despite its initial controversy surrounding loot boxes and microtransactions, the game underwent significant changes, and in response to feedback, EA removed the pay-to-win elements and reworked the progression system to address player concerns.

With its stunning visuals, authentic sound design, and the opportunity to immerse oneself in epic “Star Wars” battles, “Star Wars Battlefront II” has become a beloved title among “Star Wars” fans and players seeking an immersive and action-packed experience in the galaxy far, far away.
