Atari is an American video game company that is best known for pioneering the home video game industry in the 1970s and 1980s. The company has produced a number of classic video game franchises, including Pong, Asteroids, and Centipede. Although the company has experienced financial difficulties in recent years, it continues to develop and publish video games for a variety of platforms.
