The game features four stages, each with a different theme and set of obstacles. In the first stage, the player must climb vines and avoid various enemies, including Snapjaws, Nitpickers, and Birdies. The final stage is a showdown with Mario, who is trying to prevent Donkey Kong Jr. from reaching his father.
