“Super Mario 3D All-Stars” is a video game collection developed and published by Nintendo. It was released on September 18, 2020, to celebrate the 35th anniversary of the Super Mario franchise. The collection is exclusive to the Nintendo Switch platform.

“Super Mario 3D All-Stars” includes remastered versions of three classic 3D platformers featuring Mario: “Super Mario 64,” “Super Mario Sunshine,” and “Super Mario Galaxy.”

1. “Super Mario 64”: Originally released in 1996 for the Nintendo 64, this game is considered one of the pioneering 3D platformers. Players control Mario as he embarks on a quest to rescue Princess Peach from the clutches of Bowser in a 3D open-world environment.

2. “Super Mario Sunshine”: Released in 2002 for the Nintendo GameCube, this game takes Mario to the tropical Isle Delfino, where he uses a water-spraying device called F.L.U.D.D. to clean up the island and save Princess Peach from a mysterious imposter.

3. “Super Mario Galaxy”: Released in 2007 for the Nintendo Wii, this game features Mario’s adventure through various galaxies, exploring planets and celestial bodies to rescue Princess Peach from the clutches of Bowser once again.

The collection enhances the original games with higher resolutions and updated controls to suit the Nintendo Switch. However, there were no major graphical overhauls or changes to the core gameplay mechanics.

In addition to the games, “Super Mario 3D All-Stars” includes a music player where players can listen to the iconic soundtracks from each game.

Nintendo initially made “Super Mario 3D All-Stars” available as a limited-time release, intending to stop selling it both physically and digitally after March 31, 2021. However, this decision was met with mixed reactions from fans, as many were disappointed that they would no longer be able to purchase the collection after the specified date.

Overall, “Super Mario 3D All-Stars” offers a nostalgic trip down memory lane for longtime Mario fans and introduces classic 3D platformers to a new generation of players on the Nintendo Switch platform. It remains a highly sought-after title among fans of the beloved Super Mario franchise.
