Game Description

The “God of War: Origins Collection” is a compilation of video games developed by Ready at Dawn and Santa Monica Studio, and published by Sony Computer Entertainment. Released in 2011 for the PlayStation 3, the collection features remastered versions of two “God of War” titles that were originally released for the PlayStation Portable (PSP).

The collection includes the following games:

1. “God of War: Chains of Olympus”: This game serves as a prequel to the main “God of War” series and follows Kratos’ exploits as the Spartan warrior battles mythical creatures and confronts gods in his quest to rescue the sun god Helios. The story sheds light on events that occurred before the first “God of War” game, providing additional context to Kratos’ backstory.

2. “God of War: Ghost of Sparta”: Set after the events of the first “God of War” game, this title explores Kratos’ journey to the city of Atlantis and his confrontation with various supernatural threats. The game delves deeper into Kratos’ personal struggles and motivations, offering insights into his psyche and emotional turmoil.

The “God of War: Origins Collection” features updated graphics, higher resolution, smoother frame rates, and support for stereoscopic 3D on compatible displays. The remastered versions aimed to bring the portable titles to the PlayStation 3 with improved visuals and performance.

These two PSP games were well-received by fans and critics for their faithful adaptations of the “God of War” gameplay and storytelling to a handheld platform. The “Origins Collection” allowed players who may not have experienced the PSP versions to enjoy the additional adventures of Kratos on the PlayStation 3, providing more context to his character and expanding the lore of the “God of War” universe.
