List of Dune Video Games and Stats (2024)

The Dune video game franchise is a series of video games based on the science fiction novel series by Frank Herbert. The first game in the series, Dune, was developed by Cryo Interactive and released in 1992 for MS-DOS. The game was a mix of adventure and strategy, and followed the story of the first novel in the series.

The next game in the series, Dune II: The Building of a Dynasty, was developed by Westwood Studios and released in 1992. Dune II was a real-time strategy game and is credited with popularizing the genre. It was also the first game to introduce the concept of base building and resource management.

Westwood Studios continued to develop the series with Dune 2000, a remake of Dune II with improved graphics and new features, which was released in 1998. In 2001, Emperor: Battle for Dune was released, which introduced new factions and units to the series.

There have been several other Dune games over the years, including Frank Herbert’s Dune, a 2001 adventure game based on the first novel, and the most recent game in the series, Dune: Adventures in the Imperium, which was released in 2021 and is a tabletop role-playing game set in the Dune universe.
