Game Description
“World of Warcraft: Shadowlands” is the eighth expansion for the massively multiplayer online role-playing game (MMORPG) “World of Warcraft,” developed and published by Blizzard Entertainment. It was officially released on November 23, 2020.
In “Shadowlands,” players journey to the afterlife, the realm of the dead, following the defeat of Sylvanas Windrunner, the Banshee Queen, at the end of the previous expansion, “Battle for Azeroth.” The expansion introduces several new zones, each representing different domains of the afterlife, known as “Covenants.” Players align themselves with one of the Covenants, gaining unique abilities and rewards, and engaging in covenant-specific storylines.
The level cap in “Shadowlands” is increased to 60, and a new leveling system called “Chromie Time” allows players to choose the expansion they want to level in from level 10 to 50. This allows new players or alts to experience the storylines of past expansions without the need to follow a linear leveling path.
One of the major features of “Shadowlands” is the addition of “The Maw” and “Torghast, Tower of the Damned.” The Maw is a desolate and dangerous zone reserved for the most wicked souls, while Torghast is a roguelike, ever-changing tower that players can explore solo or in groups, facing powerful enemies and earning rewards.
The expansion also introduces new character customization options, including new races and additional customization options for existing races. Players can further tailor their characters’ appearances to make them unique.
As with previous expansions, “Shadowlands” also brings new dungeons, raids, and world quests, providing challenging and engaging content for players at different levels of progression.
The game’s graphics and visual effects have been improved, with the new zones showcasing breathtaking and diverse landscapes, from the haunting and mysterious Revendreth to the ethereal and otherworldly Bastion.
