Game Description

Izzy’s Quest for the Olympic Rings is a 2D side-scrolling platformer developed by Alexandria and published by U.S. Gold. The game was released in 1995 for the Super Nintendo Entertainment System and Sega Genesis platforms.

The game is based on the mascot of the 1996 Summer Olympics, Izzy, and follows him on his quest to recover the five Olympic rings which were stolen by a vengeful former Olympic athlete named ‘The Hooded Claw’. The game features six levels, each with their own unique theme, which Izzy must traverse in order to recover the rings and defeat The Hooded Claw.

Gameplay involves jumping, running, and collecting power-ups while avoiding obstacles and enemies. The power-ups include items such as running shoes, which allow Izzy to move faster, and a feather, which allows Izzy to glide through the air. The game also includes boss battles, including one against The Hooded Claw himself. The game’s colorful graphics and catchy soundtrack add to its charm.
