The game featured Bruce Campbell as Ash Williams, the main protagonist from the movies.

In 2005, a follow-up game, Evil Dead: A Fistful of Boomstick, was released for PlayStation 2 and Xbox. This game also featured Bruce Campbell as Ash and was developed by VIS Entertainment and published by THQ.

In 2011, a new game in the franchise, Evil Dead: Regeneration, was released for PlayStation 2, Xbox, and PC. This game was developed by Cranky Pants Games and published by THQ.
