Game Description
The Karate Kid is a video game based on the popular 1984 movie of the same name. It was released for the Nintendo Entertainment System (NES) in 1987 by LJN. The game follows the plot of the movie, with players controlling the character of Daniel LaRusso as he learns martial arts and prepares for a tournament against his rival, Johnny Lawrence. The game features side-scrolling action stages in which Daniel must defeat enemies using a variety of karate moves. The game also includes mini-games such as the “fly-catching” bonus round from the movie. The Karate Kid was generally criticized for its difficulty and lack of depth, but it remains a nostalgic title for fans of the movie and retro gaming enthusiasts.
