Game Description

“Tetris Plus” is a puzzle video game developed by Natsume and published by Atlus. Originally released in arcades in 1996, it was later ported to various home platforms, including the PlayStation, Sega Saturn, and Game Boy. The game is a unique take on the traditional “Tetris” gameplay, adding elements of platforming and adventure.

In “Tetris Plus,” players must guide a professor named Pentomino through various ancient ruins to uncover hidden treasures. The gameplay combines traditional “Tetris” mechanics with platforming elements. As Pentomino descends through the ruins, players must clear lines by arranging falling Tetriminos, just like in the classic “Tetris.” However, clearing lines also helps Pentomino navigate the platforms and obstacles within the levels.

The game features a variety of modes, including a puzzle mode where players must clear specific objectives to progress, an endless mode where players aim for high scores, and an adventure mode where Pentomino explores different ruins with unique challenges and level layouts.

The visuals of “Tetris Plus” feature a mix of colorful graphics and charming character designs. The game’s presentation adds a whimsical and adventurous feel to the traditional “Tetris” experience.

“Tetris Plus” offers a refreshing twist on the classic puzzle formula by introducing platforming and adventure elements. The combination of puzzle-solving and platform navigation creates a unique and engaging gameplay experience that stands out among other “Tetris” variations. While it might not be as well-known as the core “Tetris” titles, “Tetris Plus” is still appreciated by puzzle game enthusiasts for its innovative approach to the genre.
