Game Description
Strange Odyssey is a text-based adventure game developed by Scott Adams and released in 1979 for the TRS-80 and later ported to other platforms such as the Apple II and Atari 8-bit computers.
The game follows the player’s character, an astronaut who is sent on a mission to investigate a planetoid that has suddenly appeared in the solar system. The player must navigate through the planetoid’s various hazards and puzzles in order to discover its secrets and make it back to Earth alive.
Strange Odyssey was one of the first text-based adventure games to be released for personal computers, and it helped popularize the genre. The game was followed by several sequels, including Mission Impossible (1981) and Adventureland (1982).
