Mission Asteroid Description
Mission Asteroid is a space-themed video game developed and published by Atari in 1979. It was designed by Lyle Rains and was released as part of Atari’s VCS/2600 console.
The game features a player-controlled spaceship that must navigate through an asteroid field while avoiding collisions and shooting down enemy ships. The gameplay involves moving the ship around the screen while firing at obstacles and avoiding enemy fire. The player earns points for each obstacle destroyed and successfully completing the mission.
Mission Asteroid was not as popular as some of Atari’s other titles, but it did receive positive reviews for its engaging gameplay and challenging difficulty level. It is considered a classic example of early video games and helped to establish the popularity of space-themed games.
