Game Description

Lord of the Rings: Game One is an interactive fiction game released in 1985 for various computer platforms. The game is an adaptation of J.R.R. Tolkien’s “The Fellowship of the Ring”, the first part of his famous “The Lord of the Rings” trilogy. The game follows the plot of the novel, allowing players to control Frodo Baggins as he journeys across Middle-earth with his companions. Players can interact with the environment and characters through a text-based interface and must solve puzzles to progress through the story. The game received critical acclaim for its faithful adaptation of the source material and atmospheric writing. It was the first in a series of Lord of the Rings games by Melbourne House.
