Game Description
Klondike Solitaire, commonly referred to as just “Solitaire,” is a card game that can be played on a computer or a physical deck of cards. The objective of the game is to move all of the cards from their initial layout on the tableau to four foundations in ascending order, beginning with the Ace and ending with the King.
The origins of Solitaire are unclear, but it is believed to have been created in the late 18th century in Europe. The game was originally played with a physical deck of cards and was known as “Patience” in the UK and “Klondike” in the US.
Solitaire became a popular computer game in the 1990s, as it was included with the Windows operating system beginning with Windows 3.0 in 1990. The game was widely played and served as a way for people to pass the time on their computers. Today, Solitaire is still included in Windows and has been adapted for many different platforms and devices, including smartphones and tablets.
