Game Description
Hack is a video game developed in 1982 by Jay Fenlason with contributions from Kenny Woodland, Mike Thome, and Jonathan Payne. It is a roguelike game in which the player takes control of a character who must explore a dungeon, collect treasure, and battle monsters. The game features randomly generated levels, permanent death, and a complex set of rules governing player actions. Hack was influential in the development of the roguelike genre and has been ported to multiple platforms over the years. The game’s ASCII graphics and complex gameplay have garnered a dedicated following, with a number of variants and remakes developed by fans of the game.
