The game takes place in a world that has been devastated by nuclear war and the player takes on the role of a survivor emerging from an underground vault. The game is played from a top-down perspective and features turn-based combat. The player can explore the world, interact with NPCs, and make decisions that affect the story. The game has a unique retro-futuristic style and a dark sense of humor. Fallout is highly regarded as one of the best RPGs of all time and spawned a successful franchise.
