Dragonriders of Pern is an adventure game released by Epyx in 1983 for the Commodore 64 and Apple II systems. Based on the novel series of the same name by Anne McCaffrey, the game puts players in the role of a dragonrider tasked with defending the planet of Pern from a deadly fungal infection known as Thread. The game features a non-linear storyline with multiple possible outcomes depending on the player’s choices, as well as an open world for players to explore. Dragonriders of Pern was praised for its immersive storytelling, engaging gameplay, and faithful adaptation of the source material.
