Deus Ex Machina Description
Deus Ex Machina is a unique video game that was released in 1984 for various home computer systems such as the ZX Spectrum, Commodore 64, and Atari 8-bit. It was developed by Automata UK Ltd. and designed by Mel Croucher.
The game is considered one of the first examples of a “video game opera,” as it combines elements of music, storytelling, and gameplay. The game features a narrator who guides the player through a surreal world filled with obstacles and challenges, all set to an original score composed by Croucher.
Deus Ex Machina is also notable for its use of live-action footage and celebrity voiceovers. The game features appearances by actors Jon Pertwee and Ian Dury, as well as musician Frankie Goes to Hollywood.
Overall, Deus Ex Machina was a groundbreaking game that pushed the boundaries of what was possible in the early days of video gaming. It remains a cult classic and has been re-released on modern platforms such as iOS and Android.
