Game Description

Castle Wolfenstein is a stealth-based action-adventure video game developed by Muse Software and released in 1981. It was one of the first games to feature stealth gameplay and is considered a pioneer of the stealth genre.

In the game, the player takes on the role of an Allied spy trying to escape from Castle Wolfenstein, a Nazi fortress. The player must navigate the castle’s corridors and rooms, avoiding guards and Nazi soldiers, and find a way to escape.

Castle Wolfenstein was one of the first games to feature voice samples, with the guards and soldiers speaking in German. It was also one of the first games to use a two-button joystick, with one button used for shooting and the other for opening doors and picking up items.

The game was successful and led to a sequel, Beyond Castle Wolfenstein, which was released in 1984. The Castle Wolfenstein franchise continued with the release of Wolfenstein 3D in 1992, which is considered a landmark first-person shooter game.
