Balance of Power Description
Balance of Power is a geopolitical simulation game developed by Chris Crawford and published by Mindscape in 1985. The game puts the player in the role of the President of the United States or the General Secretary of the Soviet Union during the Cold War. The player must make political decisions and balance the world’s political and military powers to prevent nuclear war. The game features multiple scenarios, each with different political and military situations. Balance of Power was praised for its realism and was considered one of the most innovative games of its time.
