Game Description
Altered Beast is a side-scrolling beat ’em up video game developed and published by Sega in 1988. It was one of the original launch titles for the Sega Genesis console in North America and Europe. The game is set in Ancient Greece and follows a player-controlled hero resurrected by Zeus to rescue his daughter Athena. The hero has the ability to transform into various powerful beasts by collecting power-ups in the game. The game features five levels, with boss battles at the end of each level. Altered Beast received generally positive reviews upon its release and became one of Sega’s best-known and most successful franchises.
