Adventureland Description
Adventureland is one of the earliest text adventure games, released in 1978 by Scott Adams and his company Adventure International. The game was designed for personal computers of the time, such as the Radio Shack TRS-80 and the Apple II.
In Adventureland, players navigate through a series of locations and obstacles by typing text commands, such as “go north” or “take key”. The goal is to find and retrieve thirteen treasures hidden throughout the game world, and return them to a central location to win the game.
Adventureland was the first in a series of adventure games created by Scott Adams and Adventure International, which included titles like Pirate Adventure and Voodoo Castle. These games were some of the earliest examples of interactive fiction, and helped pave the way for the later development of graphical adventure games.
