The Worms video game franchise is a series of turn-based strategy games developed by Team17. The gameplay revolves around teams of worms battling each other using a variety of weapons and tools, with the goal of being the last team standing.

The first Worms game was released in 1995 for the Amiga computer system. It was later ported to other platforms, including the PC, and became a huge success, spawning numerous sequels and spin-offs.

Over the years, the franchise has evolved to include new features such as online multiplayer, new weapons and tools, and a wide variety of customization options. The series has also seen releases on multiple platforms, including consoles, PC, and mobile devices.

Some notable entries in the franchise include Worms Armageddon (1999), which is widely considered to be one of the best games in the series, Worms 3D (2003), which was the first game in the series to feature 3D graphics, and Worms W.M.D (2016), which was the most recent mainline entry in the franchise as of 2021.
