Last Updated on: March 18th, 2024

The Legend of Heroes is a Japanese role-playing game franchise developed by Nihon Falcom Corporation. The series began in 1989 with the release of Dragon Slayer: The Legend of Heroes, which was released for various home computer systems. The game’s success led to a series of sequels and spin-offs, including Dragon Slayer: The Legend of Heroes II, III, and IV.

The Legend of Heroes franchise was later rebooted with the release of The Legend of Heroes: Trails in the Sky in 2004, which was developed for the PC and later ported to the PSP. Trails in the Sky introduced a new setting and cast of characters, but maintained the traditional turn-based gameplay and narrative style of the earlier games.

The Trails in the Sky sub-series has since been expanded with two sequels, Trails in the Sky SC and Trails in the Sky the 3rd, as well as a spin-off game, Trails in the Sky: First Chapter. The franchise also includes several other sub-series, including Trails of Cold Steel and Trails of Nayuta.

The Legend of Heroes series is known for its immersive world-building and character development, as well as its complex narrative structure that spans multiple games. The series has gained a dedicated fanbase worldwide and continues to receive new entries and updates.
