The Tekken video game franchise is a long-running series of fighting games developed and published by Bandai Namco Entertainment. The series debuted in 1994 with the release of the first Tekken game for arcades and has since seen numerous sequels and spin-offs across various platforms.
The gameplay of Tekken involves two characters facing off against each other in a one-on-one battle, with the goal being to deplete the opponent’s health bar before time runs out. Tekken features a variety of fighting styles and techniques for players to master, as well as a roster of colorful characters with their own unique backstories and motivations.
Over the years, the Tekken series has introduced new features and mechanics to keep the gameplay fresh and engaging. For example, Tekken 3 introduced the ability to sidestep attacks, while Tekken 4 introduced the ability to move around in a 3D space.
The Tekken franchise has also been well-received critically and commercially, with numerous accolades and high sales figures. It has spawned a number of spin-off games, merchandise, and even a feature film adaptation. The latest main entry in the series, Tekken 7, was released in 2015 for arcades and in 2017 for consoles and PC.
