List of Spyro Video Games and Stats (2023)

The Spyro video game franchise is a series of action-adventure platform games developed by Insomniac Games, which later became owned by Activision. The franchise debuted with the release of “Spyro the Dragon” for the PlayStation in 1998. The games revolve around the adventures of the young dragon Spyro as he navigates various environments, defeats enemies, collects treasure, and rescues other dragons.
The first three games in the series were developed by Insomniac Games for the PlayStation, while subsequent games were developed by other studios for a variety of platforms, including the PlayStation 2, Game Boy Advance, Xbox, GameCube, and more recently, the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch.
The original trilogy of games were critically acclaimed for their colorful graphics, engaging gameplay, and memorable characters, particularly the titular character Spyro, who quickly became an iconic figure in the gaming industry. The series also spawned a spin-off franchise called “Skylanders,” which featured Spyro as a playable character, but focused more on the concept of “toys-to-life” gameplay.
In recent years, the franchise has seen a resurgence in popularity, with the release of the “Spyro Reignited Trilogy,” which remastered the first three games with updated graphics and improved gameplay mechanics. There is currently no official word on whether or not there will be any new entries in the series, but fans remain hopeful for the future of the franchise.
