list of Shinobi video gamesThe Shinobi video game franchise is a long-running series of action platformer games developed and published by Sega. The series follows the adventures of a skilled ninja named Joe Musashi as he battles various enemies and criminal organizations to save the world.

The first game in the series, also called Shinobi, was released in arcades in 1987. The game was later ported to a number of home consoles and computers, including the Sega Master System, Nintendo Entertainment System, and Commodore 64. The game was a critical and commercial success, and it spawned several sequels and spin-offs.

The series continued with Shinobi II: The Silent Fury in 1992, followed by Shinobi III: Return of the Ninja Master in 1993. Both of these games were released for the Sega Genesis console and received positive reviews for their fast-paced gameplay and impressive graphics.

The series also includes a number of spin-off titles, such as the Game Gear games The GG Shinobi and Shinobi II: The Silent Fury, as well as the PS2 game Nightshade, which follows a female ninja named Hibana.

In addition to the main series, there have been several attempts to reboot or revive the franchise over the years. For example, a 3D reboot called Shinobi was released for the Nintendo 3DS in 2011, and a mobile game called Shinobi Master Senran Kagura: New Link was released in 2018.
