The first game, Shellshock: Nam ’67, was released in 2004 for PlayStation 2, Xbox, and PC. It is set during the Vietnam War and follows a rookie soldier named William Devane as he navigates the dangers of the conflict. The game received mixed reviews, with some critics praising its realistic portrayal of war while others criticized its dated graphics and repetitive gameplay.
The second game, Shellshock 2: Blood Trails, was released in 2009 for PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, and PC. It is set during the Vietnam War and follows a soldier named Private First Class Nate Walker as he searches for his missing brother in the jungles of Vietnam. The game received negative reviews, with critics criticizing its clunky controls, uninspired gameplay, and lack of polish.
Overall, the Shellshock franchise has not been particularly successful critically or commercially, and there have been no further entries in the series since the release of Shellshock 2: Blood Trails.
