The Qbert video game franchise is a classic arcade game that was first released in 1982. Developed and published by Gottlieb, the game features a colorful, pyramid-shaped character named Qbert who hops around a grid of cubes, changing their colors while avoiding obstacles and enemies.

Qbert’s popularity led to the creation of several sequels and spin-offs, including “Qbert’s Qubes,” “Qbert 3,” and “Qbert Rebooted.” The character has also appeared in numerous other video games, as well as cartoons, comics, and other media.

The gameplay involves controlling Qbert, who hops around a pyramid of cubes, changing their colors as he lands on them. The objective is to change the colors of all the cubes while avoiding enemies such as Coily, a snake that chases Qbert, and Slick and Sam, two purple creatures that try to undo Qbert’s work by changing the cubes back to their original color. Qbert can jump off the pyramid onto floating discs to escape enemies, but must be careful not to fall off the edge of the pyramid. Points are earned for each cube that is changed, as well as for defeating enemies and collecting bonus items.
