List of Geometry Wars Video Games and Stats (2024)

Geometry Wars is a series of multidirectional shooter video games developed by Bizarre Creations, and later by Lucid Games. The games are known for their colorful graphics, fast-paced gameplay, and electronic dance music soundtrack.

The franchise began in 2003 as a minigame included in the racing game Project Gotham Racing 2 for the Xbox. The minigame, titled “Geometry Wars”, proved to be popular, and a standalone sequel, Geometry Wars: Retro Evolved, was released on the Xbox Live Arcade service in 2005. The game was highly praised for its addictive gameplay and stylish visuals, and it helped to establish Xbox Live Arcade as a viable platform for digital distribution.

Since then, several sequels and spin-offs have been released, including Geometry Wars: Galaxies for the Nintendo Wii and DS, Geometry Wars 3: Dimensions for multiple platforms, and Geometry Wars: Retro Evolved 2 for Xbox Live Arcade. While the franchise’s original developer, Bizarre Creations, was closed by its parent company Activision in 2011, a new studio called Lucid Games was formed by some of Bizarre’s former employees and has continued to develop Geometry Wars games.
