List of Front Mission Video Games and Stats (2024)

The Front Mission video game franchise is a tactical role-playing game series developed by Square Enix (formerly Square Soft). The series is set in a fictional world where the player takes on the role of a commander who controls a team of giant robots known as “Wanzers.”

The series debuted in 1995 with the release of the first Front Mission game on the Super Famicom (Super Nintendo Entertainment System in Japan). The game was later ported to the PlayStation and released outside of Japan in 2003 as part of the Front Mission 1st game.

The series gained popularity with the release of Front Mission 3 in 1999, which was released on the PlayStation and introduced a new setting and story. The game also received critical acclaim for its deep tactical gameplay and branching storyline.

Front Mission 4 was released in 2003 on the PlayStation 2 and introduced new features, such as real-time weapon customization and multiple perspectives. Front Mission 5: Scars of the War was released in 2005, also on the PlayStation 2, and followed the story of two rival factions during a fictional civil war.

In addition to the main series, there have been several spin-off games, including Front Mission: Gun Hazard, which was released in 1996 for the Super Famicom, and Front Mission Online, which was released in 2005 for the PlayStation 2 and PC.

The most recent game in the series, Left Alive, was released in 2019 for PlayStation 4 and PC. The game is a spin-off set in the same world as the Front Mission series and features stealth and survival elements.
