The Disgaea video game franchise is a series of tactical role-playing games developed by Nippon Ichi Software. The franchise began with the release of Disgaea: Hour of Darkness for the PlayStation 2 in 2003, which was well-received for its humorous story, deep gameplay mechanics, and unique visual style.
