List of Darksiders Video Games and Stats (2024)

The Darksiders video game franchise is an action-adventure game series developed by Vigil Games and published by THQ, with the first game released in 2010. The series is set in a post-apocalyptic world where the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse are sent to intervene in the battle between Heaven and Hell. Players control one of the Horsemen and engage in combat and exploration throughout the game.

The first game, Darksiders, introduced the series and starred War, the Horseman of the Apocalypse responsible for maintaining balance. The second game, Darksiders II, introduced a new Horseman, Death, and expanded the game’s open-world mechanics. The third game, Darksiders III, followed Fury, the only female Horseman, as she sets out to defeat the Seven Deadly Sins.

The series is known for its blend of fast-paced combat, exploration, and puzzle-solving, as well as its distinctive art style inspired by comic books and heavy metal music. After THQ’s bankruptcy in 2013, the franchise was acquired by Nordic Games, which rebranded itself as THQ Nordic, and released a remastered version of the first game, Darksiders: Warmastered Edition, in 2016. A spin-off game, Darksiders Genesis, was released in 2019, featuring a top-down perspective and a focus on co-op play.
