List of Battletoads Video Games and Stats (2024)

The Battletoads franchise is a series of beat ’em up video games that originated in 1991 with the release of the first game, Battletoads, on the Nintendo Entertainment System (NES). Developed by Rare Ltd. and published by Tradewest, the game quickly gained popularity for its fast-paced gameplay and difficulty.

The game features three anthropomorphic toads named Rash, Zitz, and Pimple, who set out on a mission to rescue their friends and stop the evil Dark Queen from taking over the universe. The game’s popularity led to the creation of several sequels and spin-offs, including Battletoads Arcade, Battletoads in Battlemaniacs, and Battletoads & Double Dragon.

While the Battletoads franchise went dormant for many years, it was revived in 2020 with the release of a new game simply titled Battletoads. Developed by Dlala Studios and published by Xbox Game Studios, the game features updated graphics and gameplay mechanics while still retaining the series’ trademark humor and difficulty.
